The top prize for winners of the Pokemon Card Design Contest in 2010, the Illustion's Zorua & Zoroark cards were awarded to category winners by contest organizers Shogakukan. Part of a tie-in to the theatrical release of the Ruler of Illusions: Zoroark movie, the contest featured ten categories for prospective artists to submit artwork. Contestants were required to design a Zorua or Zoroark Pokemon card using pre-made templates to submit to the competition, with the winners announced on July 27th of the same year. Shogakukan reports each category winner to have received 100 issues of each card they created; however, the Pucchigumi winner Miho Sugano claims their package to have contained 200. Illustrated by Megu Taniguchi, this example comes from the kindergarten category winner, charmingly depicting themselves riding the bus with the pre-designed Zorua and a Pikachu. One of only 100 of these cards awarded, according to Shogakukan, Illusion's Zorua represents a fantastic choice for collectors who enjoy cards with a story, unique art, and overwhelming rarity. PSA has graded only 46 examples of this card, making this PSA 9 a scarce offering. The perfect choice for the aspiring artist who has dreamed of becoming a Pokemon illustrator, the Kindergarten Winner Illusion's Zorua is the ultimate cathartic experience for meeting this goal.
