Available exclusively in Japan, Pokemon Card Fan Club cards were only obtainable to players of the game who earned points from such things as attending or winning tournaments. In order to receive this Magikarp card, players needed to have earned 600 GET points on their account between 2000 and 2002. Illustrated by Ken Sugimori, this version of the Shining Magikarp is unique from the one released in Neo Revelation since the Magikarp in primary focus on this card features the embossed shining foiling, while in the more common version the other Magikarp do. One of not even 200 examples to have been graded by either PSA, Beckett, or CGC, the Fan Club Shining Magikarp is the most coveted version of one of the most beloved Pokemon cards released in the last two and a half decades of the franchise.
