Among the first Pokemon cards ever released, Topsun cards were released in Japan by Top-Seika in packs of their chewing gum in the late 1990s. Collectors would receive two cards randomly inserted inside their packs of gum featuring artwork by legendary Pokemon illustrator Ken Sugimori, and packs receiving a holographic Prism card being the most coveted. This Pikachu Prism card is one of only a few dozen graded by either PSA or Beckett mint or higher currently in existence and features an early illustration of the Electric Mouse Pokemon with more pronounced rodent features and an elongated tail. With raw Prism cards becoming increasingly difficult to find and grade due to age, collectability, cardstock, manufacturer problems, an overall scarcity of sealed product, and an extraordinary difficult pull rate it is very unlikely population reports will increase by much going forward for this card. Likely to be a centerpiece in and Pikachu collector's collection, this Prism Pikachu ticks all the right boxes for it to gain momentum over time.
