One of the rarest sets of Pokemon cards to have been produced, the Tomy Scratch Cards were the fourth major set of Pokemon cards to be released in Japan, and featured the interesting game mechanic of scratching off the back of reveal moves, track damage, and play the game. Packs come with 5 cards each, and players of the game would each open their packs, randomly drawing and playing their Pokemon until one of them ran out of cards from the pack. Featuring original art by legendary Pokemon artists like Ken Sugimori and Mitsuhiro Arita, these cards are truly difficult to find unscratched, much less in mint condition, due to the nature of the game. The Venusaur Prizm card featured here is one of the premier cards to get from this set, featuring the iconic cover art for the Pokemon Green game that that helped to propel the Pokemon franchise to the worldwide phenomenon that it is today.
