The 1999 Secret Super Battle was the Japanese National Championships for senior division competitors and was held in Tokyo, Japan, on August 22nd. But exactly where was it held? To receive the highly secretive invite to this tournament, competitors had to finish in the top four in one of the nine regional Challenge Road Summer tournaments held across Japan that year. The top three finishers at each of the nine challenge road competitions were each given Secret Super Battle trophy cards, as were the podium-toppers at the Super Secret Battle championship. The tournament’s still-secret location and extreme rarity make this one of the most treasured trophy cards in all of Pokémon. And it’s no secret plenty of bidders will vie to add it to their collection this month.
