As had become standard since the company introduced the premium SP product in 1993, the first segment of the '98 Authentic set featured the top rookies. However, that year those rookie cards had a limited print run. The first 42 cards of the set, including 30 Future Watch cards such as this Moss, were short printed and serial numbered /2,000. As if that wasn't limited enough, each card in the base set came in a die-cut version serial numbered /500. Die-cut cards are often fraught with edge concerns, and the BGS population report on this card reflects how difficult it is to find this marquee Moss rookie in the highest grades, with this the only BGS 10 example.
