The Los Angeles Dodgers won their eighth World Series in 2024. Their star-studded roster was led by Shohei Ohtani who had signed a free agent deal with the team in the offseason and proceeded to make baseball history by becoming the first player to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a season. He was joined by another free agent and fellow countryman from Japan, Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Both would have prominent roles with the Dodgers as they beat the Yankees in five games for the title.
Needless to say, the duo made an impact and their inclusion together on the 25-card 2024 Bowman Chrome International Impact checklist is all the more appropriate. While the base versions are quite common, its three parallels are not. They culminate in this 1/1 Superfractor. Lending to the insert set's global scope, the design integrates both the Japanese flag and a gorgeous shot of Mt. Fuji towering in the background.
