Topps introduced its Refractor technology to basketball card collectors with its debut 1993-94 Finest release, placing the rainbow reflective coating across the 220-card base set. The result was one of the earliest parallels in the industry. Just over a decade later, a Gold version of that technology was applied to this stunning 2004-05 Topps Finest LeBron James. Although many Gold Refractors today are numbered /50, this second-year card of The King is limted to just 15 copies. Aesthetically, it's also a gorgeous team color match to the gold Cavaliers jersey the teenage superstar is wearing.
Also notable is the photo, which shows James wearing a protective mask. He did so for just 16 games after breaking his cheekbone at the end of December, 2004. It's a small portion of a long career, but one that is immortalized by this card.
Graded a Gem Mint 10, this card is a pop 3 in the PSA registry.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 03/05/2026.
