Upper Deck produced mock ticket stubs for its 1997 UD3 Season Ticket Autographs set, a rare four-card offering found 1:1,800 packs. As with most checklists on which he appears, Michael Jordan’s entry is the most coveted card of the four. One of Jordan’s earliest autographs, this UD3 Season Ticket has ascended to grail status amongst sports card aficionados. That lofty place in Jordan collecting history combines with the card’s beautiful design and the perfectly placed, hard-struck M.J. auto to create a true work of collecting art.
This card rarely hits the auction block. And while any example commands attention, this PSA 9 / DNA 10 offering represents arguably the finest copy of this landmark Jordan. PSA has only assessed 11 examples of this card, with this one of only two to earn a PSA 9 grade with none graded higher. With the 1997-98 season MJ’s famous Last Dance with the Bulls, this card will act as the winning bidder’s ticket back to one of the most famous campaigns in sports history – one that ended with Jordan’s sixth and final championship. Collectors will be hoping they’ll have reason to celebrate in a similar fashion at the close of Extended Bidding this month.
Some collectors speculate the original autograph on this card was removed and Jordan later re-signed it. However, this remains unproven. The card still holds its DNA authentication assessment, indicating its current signature is verified as authentic by the service.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 04/28/2025.
