Though his rookie season took place two years prior, Tom Brady didn’t make his Topps Finest debut until the 2002 set. That came one year after the first appearance of Xfractor-patterned parallels.
First produced in baseball and football in 2001, Xfractors place the reflective Refractor effect throughout a checkboard pattern across the front of the card in an enhanced design reminiscent of late 1990s Atomic Refractors. That pattern and Brady made for a beautiful combination on this /20 card. It's the rarest of Brady's three parallels, which also come in Refractors (/250) and Gold Refractors (/25).
