After being taken fourth overall in the 2024 draft, Nick Kurtz made a major splash the following year. The 2025 American League Rookie of the Year hit 36 home runs in his first season with the Athletics. His stellar rookie numbers included a .290 batting average, 86 RBI and a 5.4 WAR in 117 games. Among his many 2025 highlights, on July 25, Kurtz hit four home runs in one game making him the first rookie in MLB history to do so.
