Two generations of rivals combine forces for this fantastic quadruple autograph offering from 2004-05 SP Signature Edition.
Throughout the 1980s, Magic Johnson’s Lakers and Larry Bird’s Celtics battled for NBA supremacy, combining to win eight titles between 1980 and ’89. And while Kobe Bryant and LeBron James did not have as intense or as celebrated of a rivalry, they still led their respective teams to seven championships between 2000 and ’13 as two of the top players of their generation.
But in 2004—James' second year in the league—Upper Deck joined the rest of the NBA in hoping LeBron and Kobe would become a second coming of the Magic/Bird rivalry. For the second year of SP Signature Edition, Upper Deck introduced Quadruple Authentic Signatures, putting together nine groups of four on a star-studded /15 checklist. One of the most appealing offerings from the checklist puts Bird, Magic, Kobe, and LeBron together.
Although the card has not received a numerical grade, it has been authenticated by PSA.
