1968 Topps 3D Baseball is a test issue classic. Seldom seen and using different technology from what collectors were used to at the time, the 12-card set has been a baseball card unicorn for decades. This isn't your normal 1968 Topps 3D Baseball set. And it's not just baseball, either. Collectors will find some other cards not believed to have surfaced before.
This lot consists of what's believed to be 17 pages of cards used as a salesman's binder to pitch to LOOK Magazine. Headlining the lot is a full set of '68 Topps 3D Baseball, including Roberto Clemente. A total of 55 players and 70 total 1970 Kellogg's 3D Football cards are also in the lot. Johnny Unitas, Fred Biletnikoff, Dick Butkus, Gale Sayers and O.J. Simpson are among the players. For Simpson, the card is the same year as his Topps rookie.
Also included are two different Tucker Frederickson cards. The smaller of the two has surfaced a small number of times but the larger version is believed to be a new find.
Rounding things out is a final page featuring three 1968 Italian soccer cards using the same 3D Xograph technology as the baseball and football cards. It is believed that this is the first time that these cards have been seen. This page also has a large piece of art featuring elephants and penguins.
All of the cards in this lot are glued onto construction paper with each page also labeled with the date and job no.
