Although not the traditional ""1st Bowman Chrome Autograph,"" 2025-26 Bowman Basketball marked the first time the legendary player has an autograph in the legendary brand wearing an NBA uniform. James has a rookie card in 2003-04 Bowman Chrome, but because he was under an exclusive deal with Upper Deck at the time, he had nothing in the product that was signed. Fast forward more than two decades, and James' signature Bowman moment finally arrived.
Part of the 2025-26 Bowman spinoff release that complimented the main set—the first NBA-licensed Bowman set since 2009-10—Sapphire is known for its more limited print runs and premium nature. There's also the distinct background pattern that uses shards instead of the rainbow finish that traditional Refractors have. Just a handful of parallels exist include this 1/1 Padparadscha Sapphire. The pink versions have become synonymous with Sapphire much like Superfractors have become for Bowman Chrome and Topps Chrome.
Also significant is the signature. It's one of the earliest to use James' newest autograph, which now includes a crown to embody both his nickname and status as the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
The card comes graded a Gem Mint PSA 10.
