The Metal line is responsible for some of the most impressive basketball inserts ever produced. One of the brand's early standouts was Maximum Metal. The 1996-97 set features the player in a full-color action shot cast against a single-toned color background matching their team. In the middle of it all is a metallic foil basketball, providing lots of added pop. Michael Jordan was part of the Series 1 assortment of 10 cards that kicked off the set and fell at an extremely tough rate of 1:180 hobby packs. Another 10 cards were later added in Series 2.
This is the only 1996-97 Fleer Metal Maximum Metal Michael Jordan to hold a Pristine 10 grade from BGS with none higher.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 08/13/2025.
