While baseball cards such as those from the famous 1909-1911 T206 set garner much of the pre-war attention, similar releases also hit the ice in the early part of the 20th century. One such set was the 1911 C55 hockey set, which is widely believed to be a production of the Imperial Tobacco in Canada. However, unlike other releases from the period, the company isn’t advertised on the backs of the cards. And while the reverse side of these issues is indeed interesting, it’s of course the players on the front that matter most. And none in the set matter more than Georges Vezina.
