The 1985 Star Gatorade Slam Dunk set features the participants in that year's Slam Dunk Competition. Unlike most of the card maker's sets that were available in hobby shops, this promo set was originally given to attendees of the All-Star Weekend Banquet that was held in Indianapolis.
The checklist is small, with just nine cards, but it features several stars like Julius Erving, Dominique Wilkins and Clyde Drexler. But the most popular card of all is Michael Jordan. This represents one of his earliest NBA cards, predating his mainstream rookie card in 1986-87 Fleer Basketball.
Just 18 copies in the PSA registry have a higher grade than this NM 7.
