Prior to 2025-26, the last NBA-licensed Lebron James autograph cards came out in 2009-10 during his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. An exclusive with Upper Deck for much of his career, his signature didn't appear in any Panini products once they took over as the league exclusive. James' agreement with Upper Deck eventually lapsed and he signed an autograph deal with Fanatics, allowing collectors to finally get some new licensed cards once they started making NBA cards.
2025-26 Topps Basketball was the first release to do so. Hobby and jumbo boxes came with special bonus cards that included exclusive Topps Chrome cards inspired by 1980-81 Topps Basketball. Randomly inserted were autographs including 1/1 Superfractors like this James. It's one of two autographs James has on the 2025-26 Topps Basketball checklist, making it one of his earliest signatures in a Lakers uniform. It's also his first NBA-licensed Superfractor autograph.
Further adding to the card's historical significance, is the signature itself. It's one of James' first to use a new autograph that includes a crown.
This card comes in a holder from Topps.
