In 1996, Fleer/SkyBox came up with its Z-Force basketball set. The set returned in 1997 with the Super Rave parallel that was exclusive to Series 2 packs. Super Rave versions brought glittering foil and tremendous scarcity to a well-designed borderless product. By utilizing the same foil pattern that later appears on the ultra popular 1998 SkyBox Premium Star Rubies cards, Fleer/SkyBox makes Iverson’s name and the Z-Force logo pop off this card. Because of the full bleed, borderless design, any card from the set—be it a base card or an elusive Super Rave—became prone to chipping and other edge and corner wear even before it went into a pack, so collectors often watch with wide eyes when high-grade examples of NBA legends such as A.I. surface for public sale. As such, this Pop. 1 PSA with none graded higher will have plenty of collectors raving this month.
