Collectors have a lot of Ichiro Suzuki rookie cards to choose from. Over the years, many have gravitated to 2001 Topps Chrome Traded as one of the cornerstones, with its Refractor-like Retrofractor being a strong chase. Similar to how Bowman and Bowman Chrome are paired in the same packs, 2001 Topps Chrome Traded came in packs of Topps Traded. Ichiro was an exception. He appeared in 2001 Topps Series 2 Baseball but not the main Topps Chrome set. So for Topps Traded, he only has a Chrome card. In short, Ichiro was a tougher pull in 2001 Topps Chrome Traded than most players.
Refractors got a different spin in 2001, being renamed as Retrofractors. Topps was celebrating their 40th anniversary in baseball cards so backs of these cards were given throwback card stock. So while this is a Retrofractor, there is not a standard Refractor. In 2001, Chrome was still in its relative infancy so there's not a rainbow of parallels to chase. This is it.
