It took 13 years for Matthew Stafford to finally land a Super Bowl ring but it wasn't like he wasn't deserving. The former #1 pick ranks within the top 10 for all-time passing yards and was the fastest NFL QB to reach 50,000 passing yards. Stafford was an elite quarterback in Detroit for 12 years, albeit without a lot of depth around him. A trade to the Los Angeles Rams before the 2021 season changed things. With his Super Bowl win, Stafford's larger body of work gained new found success. His football cards saw a resurgence as well, particularly when it came to his rookies. In the seasons since, Stafford has continued to show his ability to be an elite quarterback, including his first MVP season in 2025. When it comes to his single best rookies, this 2009 Topps Chrome Superfractor stands out as one that's truly elite. Topps Chrome has a lot of history in football, with its popularity growing with the expansion of parallel rainbows and introduction of rookie autographs. Both of those converge with this 1/1 Superfractor. The base version of Stafford's 2009 Topps Chrome Rookie Autograph has three parallels. That's a lot smaller than today's standards, but each is scarce with no more than 25 copies each. The Superfractor represents not just the ultimate in rarity, but it's, arguably, the most iconic parallel in all of modern sports cards, instantly recognizable thanks to its gold spiral pattern and respected for its history. The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 03/31/2026.
