In 2012, Panini released its groundbreaking Prizm basketball line that helped define collecting for more than a decade. Filled with rookies, stars, Prizm parallels, and inserts, the set skyrocketed in popularity through the years, with collectors taking to to its sleek design, player selection, and shiny chrome borders.
Though the Prizm parallel rainbow has ballooned to dozens in recent releases, the original 2012-13 basketball set kept things relatively simple with just three parallels – Silver Prizm, Green Prizm, and Gold Prizm. Only the latter of which was serial numbered, its /10 stamp creating one of the most cherished printings of any player that year.
Damian Lillard’s rookie season coincided with Prizm’s debut, making his Gold /10 parallels some of the most coveted cards in that groundbreaking release. With the ‘12 Prizm set’s standing in basketball collecting history and Dame’s Hall of Fame credentials cemented, the card remains a strong representation of a crucial point in collecting history.
