Before breaking barriers in Major League Baseball, Jackie Robinson and Satchel Paige played together for the Kansas City Monarchs in the Negro Leagues. In 1945, Robinson joined the Monarchs, where Paige was already a legendary pitcher known for his pinpoint accuracy and charisma. Though their time as teammates was brief, it was significant, helping shape the course of baseball integration with Robinson debuting in MLB in 1947 and Paige following in 1948.
This incredible issue from the 2005 SP Legendary Cuts product presents authentic autographs from Robinson and Paige. Cut autographs provide an opportunity for modern collectors to own signatures from players who influenced the game decades before autographed sports cards were seeded into packs.
