The three seasons between 1982 and 1985 belonged to Michel Platini. After inconsistent runs with AS Nancy and Saint-Étienne in his home country of France, Platini joined Juventus in 1982 and quickly established himself as one of the most feared midfielders in football. Leading Serie A in scoring for three consecutive years, Platini captured multiple league titles, a handful of major European cups, and three straight Ballons d’Or and was a key part of the French national team’s carré magique (“magic square”) that dominated during the ‘80s.
Nicknamed Le Roi (“The King”), Platini was renowned for his intelligence and creativity on the pitch which translated into an edge in passing, finishing, and free-kick taking, leading him to carve out a career that ranks among the greatest of all time.
This 1974 Ageducatifs rookie card was issued in France and features Platini during his time with Nancy. Like most football stickers from this era, its manufacturer intended this card for pasting in a sticker album, making high-grade issues such as this one exceedingly rare. PSA has assessed this sticker 128 times. Of those, this is one of just six to land a Mint 9 grade with none higher.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 04/30/2026.
