Jude Bellingham is one of soccer's biggest young stars. The English wunderkind became Birmingham City’s youngest ever first-team player when he debuted for the Blues at just 16 years old and became the club’s youngest goal scorer just 25 days later. So impressive was Bellingham in his single season with Birmingham that the team actually retired his jersey. After fielding offers from several top European clubs, he became the most expensive 17-year-old in football history with a £25 million transfer to Borussia Dortmund in 2020.
The teenager continued his record-setting ways by becoming BVB’s youngest goal scorer in the DFB-Pokal cup competition as well as the youngest Englishman to start a Champions League match, and by season’s end he was voted Germany’s Newcomer of the Year. Bellingham was also the runner-up for the 2021 Koda Trophy, which is awarded by former Ballon d’Or winners to the best under-21 male player in the world.
Not surprisingly, interest in his cards have been strong since the first ones hit the market. This 2020-21 Topps Chrome Sapphire UEFA Champions League Red Sapphire ranks as one of Bellingham's best rookies. Numbered /5, it comes from the much more limited and premium leaning Sapphire release. Red Sapphire parallels were inserted at a rate of 1:255 packs. With a 100-card checklist, that would mean 1:25,500 packs to land any specific player. Only the 1/1 Superfractor has fewer copies.
Graded a Gem Mint PSA 10, it's a pop 3 in the company's registry.
