Panini began an evolution of its own in the basketball card industry when it debuted the chromium Panini Prizm product in 2012-13. Colorful parallels were part of the mix from the beginning but the first releases didn't have many.
Over the years, Panini expanded the product’s line of parallels. In 2015-16, the company introduced the online-exclusive White Sparkle Prizm. Collectors with 1,000 Panini Rewards points could redeem them for an exclusive three-card pack of short-printed White Sparkle parallels. But pulling a specific card proved very difficult, as Panini limited orders to three packs per household. Collectors also had to have those points already on hand.
With 300 cards on the checklist, the odds of pulling any particular player such as this Stephen Curry was a tough 1:100 packs. Although Panini didn't release specific print run info, 2015-16 White Sparkle Prizms are regarded as some of the rarest and most popular in the release. They're also among the most stunning.
This Mint 9 is a pop 2 in the PSA registry with just one copy ranking higher.
