In 2023, Topps introduced one of the most exciting new products in recent memory – MLB Rookie Debut Patch Autographs. While RPAs have long been intriguing prospects for collectors, these cards feature a special MLB DEBUT patch taken directly from the sleeve of the jersey a player wears in his first big-league game. Unsurprisingly, the 1/1 masterpieces proved to be a massive hit, prompting Topps to once again produce the cards for its ensuing Chrome Update sets.
Nick Kurtz is arguably the top card from the 2025 Topps Chrome Update MLB Debut Patch Autograph crop. The 2025 American League Rookie of the Year, Kurtz hit 36 home runs in his first season with the Athletics. His stellar rookie numbers include a .290 bating average, 86 RBI and a 5.4 WAR in 117 games. Among his many 2025 highlights, on July 25, Kurtz hit four home runs in one game making him the first rookie in MLB history to do so.
With just a single copy, this may be the only time in history to land Kurtz's MLB Debut Patch Autograph.
The card comes sealed in a Topps holder.
