Richard Dent is not only a Hall of Famer but he was the Super Bowl XX MVP when the Chicago Bears beat the New England Patriots in part due to his 1.5 sacks, a blocked pass and a pair of forced fumbles. But that's not the major reason why this card is so significant.
Dent's rookie card is part of 1985 Topps Football, a set notable for its striking black borders. It's those same borders that make the set so condition sensitive as the dark edges are prone to chipping and dings. Any imperfection is amplified in the set.
PSA has assessed Dent's rookie more than 1,900 times. This is one of just 22 copies to received a Gem Mint 10 grade. BGS has awarded one one Gem Mint grade and none higher. This makes it one of the rarest football cards of the decade as far as top condition goes.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 11/20/2025.
