There are Pokémon promos with smaller print runs than this original Tropical Wind. But few have become as popular amongst collectors. And while there have been several versions of the card produced since its 1999 debut, this one, featuring Sumiyoshi Kizuki art portraying Psyduck chilling out in a hammock and playing a Pokeball-themed instrument, remains the one to own for many.
Each of the 576 competitors in the 1999 Japanese Tropical Mega Battle Tournament received a copy of Tropical Wind. Another 10 were given away in a magazine promotion, bringing the total to 586. Of those 586, this is one of only three to have earned a PSA 10 grade. None of those three Gem Mint copies have hit the auction block since October 2020. Considering this popularity and rarity, bidders won't want to blow an opportunity to add this stunning Tropical Wind to their collection.
