By the time that 2014 Panini Prizm Football arrived, the brand's tradmark parallel rainbows influential to many parts of the entire sports card industry were starting to take shape. When Prizm first arrived on the gridiron just two seasons prior, the base set had just six total parallel. By 2014, its third release, that number was up to 18 different parallels. That's still a small number compared to what it would eventually become but it was a sign that Prizm was growing in popularity.
Topping the 2014 Panini Prizm parallels is Black Finite, the only 1/1 versions for the base set. This card has Joe Montana as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, the team he is best known for. A four-time Super Bowl winner and three-time MVP, Montana is on the Mt. Rushmore of NFL quarterbacks. His popularity made him a pop culture icon and household name at a time that sports cards were undergoing tremendous growth. As a result, his cards remain extremely popular today, particularly rarities such as this that come from prestigious brands like Prizm.
