Should it be a surprise when a sixth overall pick proceeds to put up star-making numbers in their first full season? Probably not, but that seems to be assessment of Oakland's Jacob Wilson. Taken high in the first round of the 2023 draft, it's clear the shortstop had plenty of potential. For most, probably not as much as he's shown in the first half of 2025, flashing one of the best batting averages in the American League.
