Hank Greenberg was one of the most dominant power hitters of baseball's Golden Age. A two-time American League MVP, Greenberg helped lead the Detroit Tigers to four American League pennants and two World Series championships. He led the league in home runs four times and runs batted in three times, highlighted by his remarkable 58-home-run season in 1938, coming within two of Babe Ruth's single-season record. The Tigers legend made history as one of the first Jewish superstars in professional sports, becoming a source of pride and inspiration for many fans. His career was interrupted by nearly five full seasons of military service during World War II, making his immense accomplishments even more impressive. Produced by the National Chicle Company, Diamond Stars evolved over the course of 1934 through 1936. Greenberg is one of 41 cards printed only in 1935 with a green back. While the Hall of Famer has a variation in which his last name is misspelled, this copy is correct. It comes graded a stunning NM-MT+ PSA 8.5.
