If there is a player made to have an image variation in a modern baseball card set, it is Shohei Ohtani. As an electric dual-threat player, Ohtani came to the Los Angeles Angels from Japan and received a pair of cards in 2018 Bowman Chrome.
While the standard base card shows Ohtani ready to swing away in the batter’s box, the rarer image variation sees him carrying his glove with a bat slung over his shoulder. Hitting a 1:133 image variation from a pack would make any collector smile but finding the autographed version would turn those emotions up another level. Autographed copies are numbered to /25 and were found once every 2,766 packs.
This particular copy is stamped 01/25. It has been assessed as a Gem Mint BGS 9.5 with a 10 for the on-card autograph.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 11/03/2025.
