One of the additions to Topps Chrome Update Series Baseball in 2025 was the Alter Ego Superheroes insert set. These short prints have proven to be extremely popular thanks in large part to their comic book-inspired art by Michael Blaskewicz. The artist transformed 10 players into larger-than-life comic characters. Among them is four-time MVP, Shohei Ohtani. Mimicking his two-way play on the field, the Japanese superstar is portrayed as both a magician and a sword-wielding warrior. WIth thousands of cards to choose from, this is easily one of the most visually memorable and striking Ohtanis in existence.
Although the base versions are extremely scarce to begin with, each has a 1/1 Superfractor parallel, such as this Shotime.
