One of the pillars of the popular Topps Now sports product is the company’s ability to offer collectors some of the earliest opportunities to land autos from their favorite sports stars upon selection to a pro team. After the Bears took Caleb Williams first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft on April 25th, Topps was there to get the No. 1 pick to sign cards honoring the moment. Williams signed a total of 264 versions of this signed card #D1, also penning his name on another 272 that featured a signature and a player-worn piece of jersey.
The 264 without a relic were broken down as such: a base /99, Green /75, Blue /49, Purple /25, Red /10 with a “Go Chicago” inscription, Orange /5 with a “#1 Pick” inscription. And there there’s this stunning Gold 1/1 with a “1st Card as a Pro” inscription – words that add a bit of extra meaning to the concept of a rookie auto.
