Fleer introduced the Brilliants brand to the gridiron in 1998, bringing an elegant feel with premium, mirror-like cards and leaving a handful of collectors feeling bejeweled along the way. The base set was covered in three parallels – Blue, Gold /99, and the elusive 24-Karat Gold limited to a print run of just /24. The rainbow reflective holographic gold foil on that last version radiates off the release’s best cards, one of which is Emmitt Smith.
With much of the NFL's all-time rushing leader's career happening when extremely low-numbered cards were still limited in their scope, this 1998 Fleer Brilliants 24 Karat Gold ranks as one of the best from Smith's playing days. Its beauty can't be understated, either.
This NM-MT 8 is a pop 1 in the PSA registry with just one copy ranking higher.
