As a member of the 2003 NBA Draft, LeBron James wasn’t around for the initial run of beloved ‘90s parallels and inserts that have become staples of high-end hoops collections. But luckily for collectors, Fleer was still making essential collectibles when the King joined the NBA, including this 2003 Fleer E-X Essential Credentials Now #102 /102 parallel.
The Credentials parallel concept originated in the 1996 Skybox E-X2000 basketball set, evolving into Essential Credentials Future and Now in the 1997 set. The serial numbering method carried into the 2003 release, with the Future version featuring inverse serial numbering for the 102-card set and the Now parallels’ serial numbering aligning with a card’s spot on the checklist. Thus, LeBron’s #102 is /102. Of those 102, this is one of only five to earn a PSA 10 grade. While many of the late-’90s editions are held in the highest regard, a brilliant design, exquisite color scheme, limited production, and engaging flip-side narrative make this one of LeBron’s best rookies in the eyes of King James collectors.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 11/05/24.
