SP Signature Edition did not gather much of a following among baseball and football collectors, but the product enjoyed a successful four-year run in the basketball industry. Upper Deck introduced the autograph-centric product to basketball collectors in 2003-04, leveraging a star-studded draft class headlined by LeBron James. Each three-card tin of the inaugural product featured one autograph, one of which could have been from the Famous Nicknames set.
Before Panini released its Notable Nicknames cards years later, UD’s more limited Famous Nicknames featured NBA stars’ signatures accompanied by their popular monikers. While any LBJ auto from his rookie season is coveted, the addition of a ""Bron” inscription on this /25 card adds another element of intrigue to this Upper Deck rookie. That nickname is also integrated into the card's design.
Graded a Mint BGS 9, subgrades include 9.5 for Centering and Corners. The autograph has been assessed as a 10.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 05/14/2026.
