Upper Deck included cut signatures from 17 different Hall of Famers in 2001 Legends Football. The checklist is a who's who of late greats like Vince Lombardi and Bronko Nagurski. But in football card circles, none are arguably more important than Jim Thorpe. One of the greatest athletes ever, Thorpe won gold medals in Decathalon and Pentathalon at the 1912 Olympics. He's a football hall of famer at both the pro and collegiate levels. Thorpe even spent time in MLB.
A revered legend, Thorpe passed away in 1953 making his autograph a somewhat rare find.
While other players on the 2001 Upper Deck Legends Football Legendary Cuts checklist have multiple copies, Thorpe is the lone 1/1.
