Prior to 2025-26, the last NBA-licensed Lebron James autograph cards came out in 2009-10 during his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. An exclusive with Upper Deck for much of his career, his signature didn't appear in any Panini products once they took over as the league exclusive. James' agreement with Upper Deck eventually lapsed and he signed an autograph deal with Fanatics, allowing collectors to finally get some new licensed cards once they started making NBA cards.
2025-26 Topps Chrome Basketball was one of the earliest releases under Fanatics' exclusive with the league. Not surprisingly, the checklist brought together extensive checklists of autographs and Refractor parallels. This 2025-26 Topps Chrome Autographs Red Geometric Refractor is one of the key cards in the entire release. Numbered /5, only James' /2 White Geometric Refractor and 1/1 Superfractor have fewer copies. Geometric Refractors were only available in breaker delight boxes.
Also significant is the signature. It's one of the earliest to use James' newest autograph, which now includes a crown to embody both his nickname and status as the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
This is an extremely important card for both James' basketball card portfolio and the ongoing evolution of the juggernaut Topps Chrome brand.
This Gem Mint 10 is a pop 1 in the PSA registry.
