X-Fractors take a different approach to the traditional Refractor. They use a checkboard pattern across the front of the card in an enhanced design reminiscent of late 1990s Atomic Refractors. The technology first appeared in basketball sets, namely on Topps Chrome and Bowman Chrome cards, during LeBron’s rookie year.
Unlike the standalone 2003-04 Topps Chrome release, the company chose to produce Bowman Chrome cards as parallels of the base 2003-04 Bowman Basketball set. Those Chrome cards have four different parallels of their own: /300 Refractors, /150 X-Fractors, /50 Gold Refractors and four different 1/1 Printing Plates. That's a much smaller rainbow compared to today's sets.
Upping the appeal on this copy is the fact that it has been graded a Gem Mint PSA 10, one of just 22 in existence.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 02/18/2026.
