Fleer/SkyBox made Molten Metal its showcase product at the 20th annual National Sports Card Collectors Convention at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, and each card features a small convention logo on the flip side. The company broke the debut product into three tiers—100 Metal Smiths (4:1), 30 Heavy Metal (1:1), and 20 Supernatural (1:2).
Most of baseball’s top talent resides in the final two tiers, and those 50 cards carried over into a partial parallel dubbed Fusion, a laser-cut metal insert that used hundreds of holes to create a design of a player’s face. Those metal cards, like this Barry Bonds, also had parallels, including an /50 Titanium offering glazed in gold.
Stunning in its design and use of printing technology, this card's tremendous rarity makes it one of the greatest Barry Bonds baseball cards ever produced.
This NM-MT 8 is a pop 3 in the PSA registry with only three copies ranking higher.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 05/08/2026.
