This stunning 1997-98 Fleer Tiffany Michael Jordan is an exceptionally tough parallel of his base card. One of 197 cards in the set for Series1, Tiffany cards fell approximately 1:20 hobby packs. That means the odds for any particular card is nearly 1:4,000 packs.
1997-98 Fleer Basketball base cards tried to evoke a sense of nostalgia by using a retro-style matte card stock. Tiffany parallels went more modern with a brighter glossy finish. The inspiration behind these are the limited edition Topps Tiffany sets from the 1980s and early '90s that also opted to go glossy.
Beyond the rarity, this Michael Jordan card is gorgeous. A ful-bleed action photo brings tremendous intensity with an elevated shot of MJ driving at the hoop with Patrick EWing and his Knicks teammates looking pretty much helpless to stop him. It's also card #23 in the set, a nod to Jordan's iconic jersey number.
