1968 was a historic year for Bob Gibson. His 1.12 ERA, 22-9 record, 13 shutouts, 268 strikeouts and 11.2 WAR were enough to earn not only the National League Cy Young, but MVP honors as well. And then there was the World Series where Gibson pitched three complete games and held the eventual champion Tigers to a 1.67 ERA. While it didn't result in a ring for the Hall of Famer, 1968 was pretty much the perfect season.
It's only appropriate then to have some cardboard perfection to commemorate it. This is one of just 22 Gem Mint 10 copies graded by PSA out of nearly 3,500 cards. That translates into a tiny 0.6% gem rate.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 08/13/2025.
