1996-97 Bowman's Best marked the chrome brand's hoops debut. That year also marked the first time that Topps expanded Refractors beyond their basic version. Atomic Refractors have taken on a few different forms over the decades, but this early installment is one of the most recognizable thanks to its tiled background. Landing 1:24 Bowman's Best packs, they were also twice as hard to pull as standard Refractors. To pull any particular Atomic Refractor, like this Jordan, the odds work out to 1:125 boxes.
The undisputed king of basketball cards, Jordan appears on just 12 total Atomic Refractors. Of those, only three are base card parallels.
