Beginning in 2014-15, the collars of NBA jerseys received a small addition in the form of a championship tag—at least the jerseys for franchises that had won at least one title. These small tags noted the number of championships. They were a nod to history and motivation for the future. When it comes to basketball cards, they also make for impressive memorabilia cards.
When LeBron James signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in July, 2018, the franchise had won 16 NBA Championships. With James at the helm, they added another in 2020. That meant an updated championship tag.
This 2024-25 Panini Eminence Triple Championship Tags LeBron James charts that championship and the transition from one tag to the next. The /3 card is also a time capsule of sorts for The King's tenure in Los Angeles. All three tags were taken from game-worn uniforms.
It comes from Eminence, a special product that appears when Panini sees fit. It's meant to be the ultimate in luxury at every turn, even higher than National Treasures and Flawless. As one of the NBA's all-time greats who also happens four championships, James certainly fits.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 11/06/2025.
