Blastoise has been one of the most beloved characters in all of Pokémon since the franchise’s 1996 debut. So it's only natural that the water type’s 1999 English Base Set printings, from 1st Edition to Shadowless through to Unlimited, remain some of the most sought-after cards from the groundbreaking release. And while any PSA 10 example from that mighty release garners attention, this particular printing is a “Stage” error card that’s much rarer than its standard counterparts. Blastoise Stage error cards are missing the word ""Stage"" that’s normally found in the top right corner of the card in its playing instructions. PSA has graded just over 510 Stage Error examples compared to 3,360-plus 1st Edition Blastoise holos. And while there are a shade over 100 PSA 10 1st Edition examples, this is one of only six “Stage” error cards to earn that Gem Mint designation.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 03/26/2025.
