Just as he’s put the finishing touches on countless games since he joined the NBA, Stephen Curry helped wrap up one of the most beloved eras in hoops collecting history with his 2009-10 Topps Chrome rookie card. The Splash Brother highlights 15 rookies who close out the 110-card Topps Chrome checklist.
Instead of producing Topps Chrome as a standalone set in 2009-10, the company inserted an average of nine Topps Chrome cards into each box of the flagship release. The base version of Curry’s Chrome RC is limited to a print run /999. This adds a layer of scarcity that other marquee Topps Chrome rookies like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James don’t possess. It was also Topps' final Chrome NBA release for 16 years with the league's license returning to the company in 2025-26.
This particular copy has a huge upgrade from the vast majority of other copies, though. It has since been signed by the basketball legend. It's a bold, blue signature, perfectly positioned on the white of the card to provide tremendous pop.
The card carries a NM-MT PSA 8 grade while the autograph has been assessed as a 10. It's a pop 7 in the PSA registry with just five copies ranking higher.
