Online-exclusive Topps NOW cards offer on-demand access to printings commemorating the biggest moments in sports. For baseball editions, this can come in the form of walk-off hits, historic achievements, or debut appearances. And when it came to diamond debuts in 2024, none generated more headlines than Paul Skenes. Topps NOW cards are printed to match demand based on orders, with 24,463 examples of the card created to honor Skenes’ May 11th debut. The Pittsburgh hurler, of course, went on to have one of the most astounding rookie seasons in MLB history, prompting Topps to produce plenty of other Skenes NOW cards, including this card #770 that was available for several days starting September 29th. By the time production wrapped up, collectors had ordered a whopping 32,652 examples of the card. But one of those 32,652 stood out from the rest. This #770A inscribed autographed version was randomly inserted into one of the Topps NOW packs sent out to a lucky collector. With its 1/1 print run and “1.96 ERA” inscription, it’s a masterpiece befitting Skenes’ once-in-a-generation talent.
The certification number on this card has been checked against the third-party grader's online database and is active as of 04/04/2025.
