The 1954 Topps set is home to two of the most celebrated vintage baseball cards ever produced, with Hank Aaron and Ernie Banks rookies among the 250-card checklist. The latter, a PSA 7.5 example of which is on offer here in the Fanatics Fest June Premier Auction, was distributed in Series 3 of the set. While vintage rookies of all-time greats are always held in high regard, Mr. Cub’s ‘54 Topps is undoubtedly the standout card in his catalog. The fresh-faced Banks’ affable nature is on full display in this beautiful printing, which earned PWCC–A Eye Appeal designation. That’s no small feat considering the common issues that plague this issue, including poor centering and blemishes on the light background.
